Extended desktop
Yes, I extended my desktop. Since my stationary PC is so frustratingly slow and old, I have been looking into the possibility of acquiring a Mac. But due to lack of money (I had been tutoring two guys in English but now their school year is over I am so in the red!) this remains… a dream, I guess. I can’t afford to spend one more euro right now. That is why my father clearly stated that the laptop is mine. The laptop is not nearly as bad as my cracked-up celeron; it is actually a Pentium 4 and has got nearly 1Gb RAM. I could do with that. My brother is not allowed to use any computers nowadays, therefore… therefore, therefore, I get to install the laptop on my desk. So basically, I intend to use all my external hardware (if you can call it that way) with my laptop: my screen, my keyboard, my mouse and my speakers. It’s more comfortable than typing with the laptop’s keyboard.
It took me a while to figure out how to extend my desktop, instead of having the image cloned from one screen to the other one. But all I had to do was click on the “settings” tab in the “Screen properties” window and then select the second screen so that I could activate the square saying “expand desktop”. I also made my big screen the first screen and kept the laptop one a secondary screen, and I had to switch them because I’m using the laptop at the left side of my screen.
I bet this is going to be useful when I have to translate a text.
